The Letter

the letter

You had managed to see the light and braved the darkness while I wanted to crumble and fall. You carried the heavy baggage of the mind as well as its darkest cornerstones and still stood tall.

Dear Darling,

You are now embarking on the 25th year of your journey in life and because of this, I want to congratulate you for not giving up on life, for being brave even if it’s really difficult, for mustering up a lot of courage, for choosing to be nice and to do good deeds and for simply being optimistic. I’ve been with you through all those years. In ups and downs, in what’s seen and not seen and in all the times that you laughed and cried even on the smallest things. All those experiences that we shared made you who are today. Not yet your best and that’s okay. I know that you are striving to be a better version of yourself each day and you’re taking it one step at a time. With focus, determination, hard work, discipline, optimism, patience, prayers, faith, hope and love you will get there.

We have been through the worst and it’s the worst feeling ever. I never thought that both of us will go through those experiences. It’s the most difficult experience ever. The last five years were like toss and turns of emotions. Of dying hearts and mind boggling minds we tried our best to get through it especially you. You had managed to see the light and braved the darkness while I wanted to crumble and fall. You carried the heavy baggage of the mind as well as its darkest cornerstones and still stood tall.

You’re everything that I am and whatever what has been and whatever will it be, please know that I’m always here for you. To remind you of who you were, who you are and the endless possibilities of who you could be. Learn from my experiences and please be wiser than me. Be better than who I am, who you were and who you are. I want to see you happier, healthier, braver, more beautiful, confident and kind. Be a better person than who I am today. Do the right things in life, be disciplined, determined, focused and hardworking. Always be kind and try your very best to never lose your cool. Always give more love and care and please be nicer. In short, ‘mas maging mabuting tao ka’. 😀

Read more (books, essays, poems, etc.), write more and draw. Learn all the necessary skills you need to achieve your goals and to excel in life and in your chosen career. And please, never be afraid to pursue your dreams. Have courage and work on your dreams. I believe that you can do and make it, if you embody the right kind of attitude towards life and have learned the necessary skills. Never forget to be grateful and never lose your faith and hope. Consume good things and never settle for mediocrity.

I want to see you pursuing your dreams and achieving your goals. I want to see succeed. Be comfortable with the uncomfortable and the unknown. When life gives you lemons and you felt tired making lemonades out of it, remember the lessons from our past journeys and pray.

Never be lazy, be useful and focus on what really matters to you. Take good care of yourself and please make me proud. Happy birthday, dear!

Sending you lots of love, encouragement and positivity,

                                                                                                      Thyself 🙂

P.S. Have fun and don’t take life too seriously. Also practice deliberately and sleep early. 😉
