Internet Finds Vol. 13: My Picks on Brain Pickings

internet finds 13

As an avid reader, I always seek new topics to read either in print or digital. I want to read diverse topics so that I’ll have different perspective of things, to learn and be in the know. Reading has a lot of benefits. Like it expands our thinking, enriches our minds and widens our imagination. It is an important tool to thrive in life.

One of my must-read and often visited website (credits to Pocket) is the Brain Pickings. It’s founded and run solely by Maria Popova. A woman whom I admire for her excellent writing skills and her dedication to creating written pieces that covers different fields of interest. You can read more about her through Brain Pickings about page and her interview with Tina Essmaker of The Great Discontent.
Brain Pickings — which remains ad-free and supported by readers — is a cross-disciplinary LEGO treasure chest, full of pieces spanning art, science, psychology, design, philosophy, history, politics, anthropology, and more; pieces that enrich our mental pool of resources and empower combinatorial ideas that are stronger, smarter, richer, deeper and more impactful. Above all, it’s about how these different disciplines illuminate one another to glean some insight, directly or indirectly, into that grand question of how to live, and how to live well.

I recently rummaged its art and psychology subjects to find articles that I would read for later. The list below is a compilation of my top picks from among the many I have chosen. These articles are filled invaluable wisdom and insights about creativity, life and success.

Brain Pickings is a one-of-a-kind website. It gives knowledge and wisdom, it moves feelings and it inspires. I’m glad to have found it again and took the chance to discover and read more of its contents. With the different topics covered, readers will always find something new to read. I encourage you to check out Brain Pickings and see it for yourself.
